The following idea I have been brewing over for a long time, and therefore have a lot to say about it. So if you aren't the type of person who will bother reading more than a paragraph of a thread's original post, then don't bother - You probably wouldn't want to participate anyway. I'm actually serious about this, and if you aren't, then please don't pretend you are.
This mysterious thought that has grown inside my semi-capacious brain is, in my opinion, a bit original, though I doubt there haven't been things like that have come into reality before. I believe, if it were to indeed succeed in its birth, it would be quite a fun little project. Now, you may ask, what my idea-with-so-much-potential is? I'll tell you that.
I've been thinking about starting up an eNewspaper. This does not mean it's a newspaper headquartered online. That'd be a news website. This is an eNewspaper, which reports about happenings exclusively on the web. And I don't mean occurrences online that relate to some event in the global news theater. I mean events within the internet community, which has many-a-member, and no such bulletin board (to my knowledge) as this.
One might ask what the eNewspaper would report on. I've laid out a set of pages/features that will answer this question
The eInterest Page
The eInterest Page would be a series of small features, all of some interest. For example, it would have a section dedicated to YouTube videos, discussing them and their author. Another section might report of a site of particular interest, perhaps quotes form the sites creator and the site's purpose, etc. Maybe it'd have a column discussing fansites, with one fansite under the spotlight each volume. Ideas are to be discussed.
The Flash Page
This page is a bit more obvious. It'd have links to particularly awesome animations that were published in that week (assuming it's a weekly). Different articles on different animations, perhaps reviewing them or interviewing the artist. Maybe a review on the each of the Top flashes from Newgrounds that week. Perhaps a profile feature of that week's artist. There are many possibilities. I hope I can hear some suggestions.
The Art Page
This page would focus on art posted solely on the internet (that would mean no galleries). The main source for the reviews and hopefully the artist profiles would be definitely deviantArt or Sheezyart or some other thing of such nature. Such things as Photoshop tips and weekly tutorials from well-known Artists in the internet community would be cool (actually, they could just be any old tutorial if you want, as long as it's small and good, right?).
The Forums Page
This page would highlight awesome forums that can be found online, from TV Show Discussion sites to just hangouts. It'd be great. Also, there'd be features on particularly active forums RPG sites. Tips for coding forums would also be there, with a feature column from a different big Admin each week.
The Interactive Page
This would be dedicated to articles on RPG sites and Flash games that have a certain level of awesomeness to them. For Flash, there'd be an actionscript feature with tips, etc. There'd be interviews, etc. To be discussed.
That's basically it for the pages. Here's now a staff-needed list.
Reporters
Reporters would be the people who would go out and find the content for each of these pages. They would only report on the section that they're particularly interested in. They would also require a certain level of writing capability.
Editors
Editors would just make sure everything is good and ready to go. No dead links, no mistakes, etc. This position would also write front page stories once in a while, based on how big the story is. A big understanding of internet culture would be required.
Coder
When we eventually get a site running, which we should, these would be the people of the hour. They'd set up the forum, they'd set up the site, how the stories are viewed, etc. This would be very important once the eNewspaper is developed.
Supporters
These people would just read it. That's all we need, to spread the word.
